There aren’t many occasions when you wouldn’t be able to take an impressive looking photograph of Edinburgh Castle. Sunsets and clear blue skies may spring to mind for photography but the nature of the castle lends itself to alternative scenarios to capture the mood.
In this instance the low Scottish mist shrouding the parapets, creates a somewhat dark, foreboding and mysterious feeling, perhaps reflecting the historic presence the castle would have had as it towered above the city’s subjects below.
For the photographer, the impressive nature of the castle can be emphasised by getting up close personal using a suitably wide angled lens.
